November 23, 2024 – Carolina Prime Pet (Lenoir, NC) is recalling (400) 16 oz bags of Hollywood Feed Carolina Made Chicken Chips because of possible salmonella contamination. Click here to see the announcement from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration.

As of today, there’s no known link between these two recalls.

FDA Advisory: Do Not Feed Certain Lots of Darwin’s Natural Selections Pet Food Due to Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is cautioning pet owners that FDA samples of five Darwin’s Natural Pet Products raw cat and dog food made by Arrow Reliance, Inc. tested positive for Salmonella and a sixth FDA sample tested positive for Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes (L. mono). (September 20, 2024)

From the U.S. FDA website:

  • Affected products are sold in frozen 2-pound packages  and consist of certain lots of Darwin’s Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Cats and Darwin’s Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Dogs. These product lots should not be fed to pets.
  • The affected lots of pet food are in 2-pound white and clear plastic packages with four separate units. The dog food has blue labeling, and the cat food has blue and green labeling. The lot codes are printed on the front of the lower left unit of the package. The affected varieties and lot codes are:

    2. Darwin’s Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Cats

      • Lot No: 10890 MFG. Date: Aug 13, 2024
    4. Darwin’s Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Dogs
      • Lot No: 10828 MFG. Date: Jul 24, 2024
    5. Darwin’s Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Dogs
      • Lot No: 10844 MFG. Date: Jul 30, 2024
    6. Darwin’s Natural Selections Antibiotic & Grain-Free Chicken Recipe for Dogs

  • If consumers have any pet food on the list below, they are advised to throw it away in a secure container. Do not feed it to your   pets. Do not donate the food.

Blue Ridge Beef has issued a voluntary recall of its Blue Ridge Beef Puppy Mix, due to Salmonella and Listeria Monocytogenes contamination. Kitten Grind & Kitten Mix also affected. (Dec. 22, 2023)

This recall includes all lot numbers and used by dates between N24 1114 to N24 1224 of their 2 lb log of Kitten Grind UPC 8 54298 00101 6; 2lb log of Kitten Mix UPC 8 54298 00143 6 and their 2lb log of Puppy Mix UPC 8 54298 00169 6 due to contamination of Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes.

From Blue Ridge Beef: Blue Ridge Beef Issues Voluntary Recall of Blue Ridge Beef Kitten Grind, Blue Ridge Kitten Mix and Blue Ridge Beef Puppy Mix Due to Salmonella and Listeria Monocytogenes Contamination.

“Pets with Salmonella and Listeria infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.”

TFP Nutrition Expands Voluntary Recall of Dry Dog and Cat Foods Due to Potential Salmonella Health Risk (Nov. 16, 2023)

TFP Nutrition is expanding their voluntary recall that was initiated to include all dry dog, dry cat, and catfish formulas manufactured in their Nacogdoches, Texas, facility.

Attention dog and cat owners!

TFP Nutrition has expanded their voluntary recall to include several lines of dry dog and cat food, as well as catfish food. The most recognizable brands listed are Country Acres Farm Dog & Cat, and several H-E-B Texas Pets dog and cat food. A number of others are listed, See the FDA announcement for more info.

Mid America Dog Food Expands Voluntary Recall (Nov. 9, 2023)

Voluntarily recalled brands produced at the Mount Pleasant facility include: Victor Super Premium Dog Foods, Wayne Feeds Dog Food, Eagle Mountain Pet Food, and some Member’s Mark varieties with Best By Dates before 10/31/24. Recalled products were distributed to distributors and retailers throughout the United States.

Attention all dog owners!

Mid America Dog Food has extended a recall on some of their dog and cat foods due to risk of Salmonella. Salmonella can be dangerous to your pet or to any human who handles the food.

The most recognizable of the brands affected is Victor Super Premium Dog Foods. 

IMPORTANT: We have never used any of these affected brands for your puppies or for our adult dogs, but we know Victor has always had a terrific reputation and we’re certain they’ll correct this as quickly as possible.
