Bruno the Bernedoodle!
Submitted by the Morriss family

l always wanted a big dog and I got one. Bruno is a great dog. I love both the Poodle and Bernese Mountain Dog breeds. This is the best of both worlds. He doesn’t shed. He is very smart and learns his commands quickly. He had the most trouble with staying in place because he’s a very social dog. He is so lovable and I’m so glad I got him.
Kathy, Bruno's mom
Hello! My name is Bruno...
…and I’m a Bernedoodle. My dog mom is Nettie and my dog dad is George Grimes!
My human mom says that Nettie is the most beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog she’s seen. My mom also says that she wanted a big dog, and she got an EXTRA LARGE one with me. I’m now almost 7 months old, weigh 50 pounds and am taller than my older sister Libby (she’s a yellow Labrador). I like to play in the water, or just lay in my pool and drink the water. I LOVE to play tug with Libby. I have two other sisters, one is 16 and she is grumpy, her name is Tabby. The other is a weird family member. She is older than me but she is the smallest of all. She likes to hide from us, but I really love to chase her when she comes out of mom and dad’s room. She is 1, her name is Kyia and my mom and dad call her a cat.
What do I like to do, you ask?
Before we moved to our new house, we had to put new floors down and I LOVED to help my mom and dad. I would watch them like a hawk to make sure that they were doing it right. I even helped spread the plastic on the floor.
I love to play with my toys and I have a blanket that I like to sleep with. I love to meet new people and haven’t met a stranger yet. I like to bark at the neighbor dog, but when she chases me I run back to mom and hide behind her (even though I’m bigger, she’s older).
I love to hold your hand, I just have to do it with my mouth. I like to carry things around.
I'm pretty smart, too...
Mom says I’m pretty smart. I go to training with my sister Libby. I like riding in the car to get there, but I don’t like to sit patiently, especially when other dogs and people walk through the training room. Who knows, that could be my next best friend and I can’t go meet them. I do get to go to doggie day care and get to stay overnight sometimes at the training place and then I get to make all the new friends. Mom says Libby is more shy so she doesn’t meet as many new friends.
Mom and dad say life with me is never dull. I love living in the country so I can run and play. Sometimes when I sleep, mom says I look broken (see above). I’m not broken, I just like to sleep in different positions!
Note from Lost Creek:
We’re a big fan of the elevated dog beds, as seen in Bruno’s photo above. They’re much easier on a dog’s joints and can help prevent things like arthritis as your pup gets older. (ESPECIALLY for larger breeds.)
They also keep your dog cooler when he sleeps and serve as a great place to “place” him when you need him to stay out of the way for a few minutes! We really like this company and their products => Kuranda Dog Beds, but you can also find some great products at the links below.
What is Doodle Diaries?
Occasionally, families submit guest blog posts about their puppies that came from Lost Creek Farm. We’ll try to post a new entry every month and we hope this helps new families and existing owners alike! If you’d like to post, send an email to jeff@lostcreekdoodles.com.
